Paleo Hoisin Sauce

Hoisin sauce is a delicious Chinese condiment, but it's not exactly Paleo-friendly. So when we were itching for Chinese food last week and found a great boneless pork rib recipe that called for hoisin sauce, we decided to get creative! Here is our take on making your own Paleo Hoisin Sauce (makes about 1 cup).

Ingredients
  • 8 tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 4 tablespoons almond butter
  • 2 tablespoon pure honey
  • 4 teaspoons coconut vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 5 drops of Dave's Insanity Limited Edition Ghost Pepper Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Method
  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar.
  2. Shake until well mixed.
This makes about 1 cup of sauce. We used 2/3 of it for our Boneless Pork Ribs with Paleo Hoisin Sauce. It's finger-lickin' good! :)

P.S. If you want to see the hoisin sauce recipe off of which we based this one, check it out on CDKitchen.com: Hoisin Sauce.
